Sheila
Atwell. President. Sheila has lived in
Evergreen, CO with her husband, Robert, and children, since
2000. Sheila graduated from the University of Arizona in 1992
with a degree in Finance and earned the Chartered Financial
Analyst designation in 1998. Most of her “for-profit” career has
been as a financial advisor to individuals and institutions.
Between 2000 and 2006 she served on the board of a Denver
non-profit as Treasurer, Membership Chair, Event Chair and
President before focusing her energies on Evergreen non-profits.
In 2007 she completed the Leadership Evergreen program which
introduced her to tons of movers and shakers in Evergreen. This
background combined with a love of all things African makes her
a great addition to the IYH board.
Robert Bradley. Vice President. Bob is the
owner of a commercial real estate investment company focusing on
office investments in the Denver, Colorado area. He is a 1968
graduate of Lehigh University where he majored in Accounting and
a 1971 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. After
starting his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Washington,
D.C., Bob practiced law with the law firm of Lewis, Mitchell and
Moore, a 45 person firm, specializing in tax, business planning
and real estate. He was also a partner in Tycon Developers, a
real estate firm that developed office buildings, primarily in
the Tyson’s Corner, Virginia area. Bob is a past president of
the Vienna Optimist Club in Virginia and has served on various
non-profit boards, including the Evergreen Rotary Club. Bob and
his wife Annette have four grown children and reside in
Evergreen, Colorado.
Scott King. Treasurer. Scott brings an
extensive financial expertise to Into Your Hands-Africa.
He spent over 17 years with Molson Coors Brewing Company
(formerly Coors Brewing Company) in numerous financial
positions, ending his career there leading the company’
worldwide financial planning and analysis group. He
received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from
Colorado School of Mines and a Masters of Business
Administration from The Ohio State University. After
leaving Molson Coors, Scott started his own financial companies
that provide support to numerous small and start-up companies,
ranging from strategic planning to monthly financial support.
This change in career has also allowed Scott the ability to
start working with non-profit organizations, primarily in the
area of finance. Scott’s interests include golf, travel
and family.
Mary Ann Tate. Secretary. Mary Ann graduated with a Master’s Degree from Kellogg Graduate
School of Business and is a seasoned marketing and
communications business owner with a passion for making life
better for children throughout the world. She has a well
developed sense for marketing planning and strategy, creative
execution of programs, and follow-through. Mary Ann’s interest
in education and eradicating poverty along with her marketing
and PR background led her to become a board member for Into Your
Hands.
Julie
King.
Julie has lived in Evergreen Colorado for 12 years. Since 2001, she manages several small privately held companies with oil and
natural gas interests. Prior to 2001, Julie worked for Coors
Brewing Company as the manager of a research group. Julie has a
Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado
School of Mines and a Masters in Business Administration from
the University of Denver. She enjoys horseback riding, reading
for her book clubs and international travel. Julie has
made many friends in the Makondo community through her visits to
St. Denis SS. Julie is a founding member of Into Your
Hands.
Lorene
Lilliard-Joos. Lorene was
raised in Colorado and received her Juris Doctorate from
Southwestern University. She practiced law in California before
moving back to Colorado to raise her family. Settling in
Evergreen she became involved in community events. She helped to
create the Mountain Youth Festival and later served on the board
of Community Pride, a community youth advocacy group. Lorene
also served on the founding board of Rocky Mountain Academy of
Evergreen. In 1996 she joined the board of the Evergreen Arts
Council and later was asked to serve as its Executive Director
where she was instrumental in the creation of the Center for the
Arts Evergreen. Retiring in 2007 she has served on several
boards and committees in the Evergreen area including the
Executive Committee for the construction Buchanan Park, a
mountain area family recreation complex. Lorene is the
Past-President and a founding member of Into Your Hands.
Mari
Akers. Mari is currently
responsible of Human Resources Operations for UDR, Inc. a
residential Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) headquartered in
Denver, Colorado focusing on Talent Acquisition and Talent
Management. She was previously the First Vice President of Human
Resources for ProLogis, an international industrial REIT. Prior
to joining ProLogis, Mari served as the Senior Vice President of
Human Resources for AIMCO, where she managed all aspects of
Human Resources and supervised both the Corporate and Operations
Human Resources teams. Mari earned a Bachelor of Science Degree
in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Education and Counseling.
She is very involved in education as a tutor at Sable Elementary
School and participates in Junior Achievement on both the high
school and elementary school levels. Mari is on the advisory
board of Ball State University’s Property Management Program
(undergraduate and graduate) and is a dedicated volunteer at the
Life Care Center of Evergreen, a residential treatment facility
for individuals afflicted with Alzheimer’s and other dementia
diseases. She is also an avid supporter of the Susan B. Komen
Breast Cancer Foundation.
Tom Srsich.
Tom’s recent trip to Makondo, Uganda, has made him an avid
advocate for the students and community of St. Denis Senior
Secondary. Tom graduated with a Masters of Computer Information
Systems from the University of Denver in 1991. Since then, Tom
has worked as a software designer and provided support and
technical training at a variety of levels including designing
and implementing integrated CRM solutions merging data from
Oracle, McHugh, Siebel, Epiphany, IBM Websphere and other
applications to create a single customer view. As the owner of
2Tall Enterprises, Tom comes to Into Your Hands with an
extensive background in business development and management,
growing three Fantastic Sam’s Franchises from losses to
profitability. Tom’s creative business and marketing skills
along with his strong analytical and planning skills brings
great vision to the work of Into Your Hands.
